Description

First issued in October 1989, the Vienna Philharmonic gold coin is Europe’s most successful investment coin and since 2002 has been the first gold coin with a currency denomination of 2000 shillings in 100 euros.

Obverse

On the obverse is an image of the Vienna Concert Hall. Above it is the text “REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH”.  Below are the weight, purity, year of mintage and the coin’s face value of 100 Euros.

Reverse

On the reverse are instruments used by the Vienna Philharmonic. Above the instruments is the text “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER”.
